Mysore Academy of Ayurveda

With worldwide recognition and growing popularity of Ayurveda as the best viable alternative to meet present-day health problems, more and more people are evincing interest in studying the Ayurvedic science in India and abroad.

This has paved the way for the establishment of Mysore Academy of Ayurveda, a scientifically oriented institute with the sole aim of providing a sound understanding of comprehensive theoretical knowledge as well as the practical application of basic principles of Ayurveda.

Mysore Academy of Ayurveda trains students in the basic principles of ancient Indian science of healing as well as practically guiding them towards good health and all-around well being.

Chitralekha is a senior Ayurvedic consultant, researcher, and author based in Mysore, Karnataka, South India. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from Bangalore University and subsequently earned her Master's degree in Kayachikitsa from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. She is also certified in Acupressure and Teletherapy.

She has many years of experience in clinical research, primary care, and clinical practice. She is specialized in the management of allergic skin ailments, arthritis, low back pain, gastrointestinal disorders, diseases of the liver, gall stones, and asthma. She is one of the few Ayurvedic physicians who practice Marma touch therapy.

She has been conducting free health camps and workshops in Mysore from the last ten years. She has to her credit several published articles on Ayurveda and related topics.

She is currently an Associate Professor at Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College, Bangalore. She is the Founder-director of Mysore Academy of Ayurveda, Mysore, and also the Chief Consultant at Soukya Health Care and Panchakarma Center, Mysore.

Her primary goal is to preserve and promote the principles of Ayurveda for the benefit of society at large. She is passionately involved in increasing Ayurvedic lifestyle education and training by sharing the wisdom of Ayurveda.
