Additional Information by ayurveda.in:

One of the ayurveda.in team members visited Indus Valley Ayurvedic Centre in December 2014. Read our review here:

"Being greeted with a broad smile, an amazingly delicious herbal drink and the ritual application of a tika, Mysore’s Indus Valley Ayurvedic Centre made the most of a warmhearted arrival for me. The IVAC - founded by Dr. Talavane Krishna in 1994 - truly is a perfect place for quiet contemplation and recovery from the turmoil of modern daily life.

After a close investigation into my constitutional Doshas, possible imbalances and needs by Dr. Deepti Niranjan I got my tentative treatment schedule for the following days and started straight away with my first treatment - a wonderfully relaxing Abhyanga oil massage, followed by a mild Sweda (steam therapy). Four pairs of hands kneaded and rubbed me until every cell of my body started to smile. The IVAC staff is well trained and full-time dedicated to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

At the dinner buffet I encountered an Austrian shiatsu therapist, who ist staying here for the second time, a Swedish Artist, who found this place by recommendation and a Japanese Ayurveda student and former nurse who decided to undergo a 2-months Ayurveda therapy training after having visited a lecture of Dr. Krishna in Tokyo. Besides this very international crowd, many locals come to stay at the IVAC, even for a day off from stressful city life. Most of the delicious and strictly vegetarian food comes from the organic local garden and the milk is produced by IVAC’s own cows in the cowshed, which can be visited. According to the centre even most of the oils, herbs and medicines are manufactured at IVAC and can be purchased at the resident pharmacy.

The IVAC grounds are vast and lavishly vegetated by coconut trees and the big variety of Ayurvedic plants. Small wooden signs inform the interested guest about botanical and Sanskrit names. Traditional cottages host the various treatment facilities. Being personally guided to your appointment with the therapists, you can easily fall into meditative spheres by hearing the sounds of singing birds, wind shaking the leaves and the constant subtle humming of AUM on your way. The IVAC offers a wide range of therapies and prearranged packages for short and longterm stays. A spa and beauty holiday is as available as a traditional Panchakarma cleansing therapy.

Without trying to be too fancy this has become a beautiful and genuinely healing place.
Considering more worldly terms, the prices for the treatments are reasonable and include a lot of loving care and attention for you. The Ayurvedic doctors on duty can be consulted at any time of your stay to talk about experiences or adjust the treatment methods. Accommodations vary from simple, but cosy rooms with or without AC to spacious villa cottages with a private terrace.

The location of the IVAC is another plus, being situated close to landmarks like the famous Mysore palace or Chamundeshwari Temple. Besides exploring Mysore, one can easily spend time within the gates of the IVAC - by having a dip in the pool, a tennis match or a lesson in Ayurvedic cooking within treatments.

After one week of deep relaxation and holistic lifestyle I understand why so many people are here on recommendation. The IVAC is a place for India- and Ayurveda-Newbies as well as the experienced seeker for traditional Ayurveda and therapeutic Yoga."
