The Lake Village

The Lake Village Heritage Resort is accessible by both road and water at Kottayam, the gateway of Kumarakom (a renowned tourist destination in God’s own country), and just 80 km from Kochi International Airport, 2 km from Kottayam Railway Station, and only 1 km from bus station.

The Lake Village is an amazing reproduction of Kerala’s art, architecture, culture, lifestyle, food, and entertainment. The flora is spread over 20 acres of lush greenery situated on the bank of Vembanadu Lake. The Lake Village has 17 aesthetically furnished cottages on the waterfront. The cottage has been laid out in such a way that the culture, heritage lifestyle of this beautiful land are well-preserved and private balconies overlooking the lake.

Typical Kerala architecture has been recreated from old Tharavadu and llamas or ancestral homes providing the ideal ambiance for a relaxed stay. Set amongst the verdant coconut palms swaying to the gentle breeze with lazy backwaters flowing by, the village is an idyllic destination for your holiday.

The cottages are an artful blend of the old and new with modern amenities to make your stay comfortable. Each cottage imparts a unique feeling of staying afloat a houseboat with the backwater gently lapping the sides. The garden bathrooms are open to the sky exuding oneness with nature. Proving to be a haven of privacy and solitude.
